The Polish Association of Employment Agencies (SAZ) was established on the 10th of February 2005 in Warsaw as a representative body for the Recruitment Industry in Poland.
There are currently 50 employment agencies registered as members of SAZ.
SAZ consists of companies of varying sizes. It is an association that represents both large, national agencies, which operate on the international scene, whilst also representing regional and small local enterprises. This wide membership profile gives SAZ a more complete picture of the polish temporary staffing market. It also makes SAZ more able to represent the interests of the entire industry sector.
There are two secions in SAZ: Recruitment Agencies Section, dedicated for recruitment and consulting agencies, and Temporary Work Agencies Section, dedicated for staffing and outsourcing agencies.
The Mission of SAZ is to represent its members whilst supporting the creation of a representative and stable organisation to further promote the activities of employment agencies and to have a significant impact on the development of the entire industry sector. (e.g. change of social and business awareness, legal regulations, branch education).
The Polish Association of Employment Agencies (SAZ) is affiliated to the Confederation of Polish Employers (KPP). This allows SAZ to initiate proceedings in the Tripartite Commission, which is the main consultative body of the Polish Government and representative social partners’ organizations (4 employers’ organizations and 3 trade unions).
The profile, position and reputation of the Confederation of Polish Employers gives SAZ the ability to establish a partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and also the Main Labour Inspection Office, both of whom are responsible for labour market regulations.
A large part of the activities of SAZ are to educate and provide information about temporary staffing and to generally influence recruitment company standards in the market. SAZ sees as it’s priority not only to inform business circles about it’s industry sector, but also to create awareness regarding flexible employment solutions in society.
One of the initial points of action for SAZ was to work out a governing Code of Ethics. This has meant introducing standards for employment agencies, specifically targeting internal procedures and the general treatment of temporary staff. Introduction of the Code of Ethics has already seen substantial improvement in the quality of service given to both temporary staff and end-user clients.
Supporting the Code of Ethics is the SAZ Ethics Committee, which is a platform for resolving potential conflicts between agencies and their clients and/or employees affected by their co-operation. The SAZ Ethics Committee relies on close co-operation with the National Labour Inspection Office in order to ensure the fair and unbiased treatment of all parties in cases of dispute. Consultations and seminars with the Labour Inspection Office assists SAZ and it’s members to avoid making errors, often caused by improper understanding of legal regulations. SAZ is currently working on implementing the internal certification of its members, thereby assuring that affiliation to SAZ will be a guarantee of quality.
In the interests of the entire industry SAZ endeavours to co-operate with all participants of the labour market: government and local administration offices, public jobcentres, labour inspection offices, trade unions, employers’ organizations and other partners in the labour market.
SAZ is also very much interested in enhancement of the co-operation with other partners in the European Union.
